meet stacey dillon

Stacey has been crafty, creative and throwing parties for as long as she can remember.

When she was little her mom owned a ceramics business. She sold her wares at craft fairs and taught classes in a studio in their house. She can remember playing under the table at the fairs and when she was older making items of her own to sell. At that same time Stacey and her sister were always playing tea party with their dolls, everything had to be set just right and the food perfect. And at age 8 she was cooking dinner several nights a week – always having a hard time sticking to the recipe and wanting to mix it up a bit. So where did Stacey’s adventures take her after tea parties and craft fairs?

First to California State University, Chico – where she perfected her abilities to work and play hard as well studying communications and getting a BA in Information and Communications Studies, basically she learned to talk! After college she moved to Seattle and spent some time as a nanny. While living with the family she learned to love setting a table and plating culinary concoctions. The dad of the family she worked for introduced her to the ramekin and serving dishes and now she has more tablewares than Crate & Barrel!

During her time in Seattle she manage a bed & breakfast near Alki Beach and wrote a cookbook with the owner of Villa Heidelberg, then she started her own business, Simply Stacey - which helped families with whatever they needed help with, mostly child care, home organization, kid’s craft projects and decorating their homes for the holidays. But sunny California began to call her name!

In 1997, back to San Francisco she worked for several years as a high tech project manager and website producer, riding the dot com boom. But she strived to be the designer more than the coordinator and was determined be creative everyday, instead of crunching numbers and managing schedules.

In 2002, a simple Valentine’s card project launched Stacey & Company. Then over the next two years she made handmade notecards – which she sold at local street fairs, designed invitations for friend’s weddings and started doing a little catering and party planning – anything she could find to give her a chance to be creative while bringing home a paycheck. After having her first baby, she decided to run Stacey & Company as a full-fledged event planning and design business.

A friend of a friend led to another gig and before she knew it, she was running a busy studio full time (or at least part time mom / part time small business owner). She designed her first 6 figure luxury wedding in 2006 and hasn’t looked back.
